Colorado-based Level 3 Communications is one of just six tier-one internet providers in the world and is committed to a vision of being “the trusted connection to the networked world.” However, the next-generation communications provider is also focused on making a positive worldwide impact. Level 3 is committed to supporting the underprivileged, the environment and education through its corporate social responsibility program, Level 3 Cares. The Level 3 Gives grant program provides funding to nonprofits that are meaningful to Level 3 employees while building upon the company’s volunteer program.[ezcol_2third id=”” class=”” style=””]
In 2013, Level 3 became the exclusive communications partner for the Daniels College of Business Institute for Enterprise Ethics, which is dedicated to integrating ethical, socially responsible and sustainable leadership practices into the fabric of corporate culture. In this capacity, Level 3 offers technical resources and support so that the Institute can extend its reach via live stream events to constituencies around the globe. In addition to being one of two charter partners of the Institute, Level 3 is also a diamond-level sponsor in the Daniels Corporate Partners program.
Several individuals at Level 3 are recognized for making the partnership possible. Neil Eckstein, senior vice president and chief ethics and compliance officer, will join the Institute’s Executive Advisory Board, which is currently being organized. Eckstein has been an active participant in events hosted by the Institute since 2010. Laurinda Pang, chief human resources officer, oversees the organization’s recruiting of Daniels undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, Pang has teamed up with Daniels Executive Education to develop a customized organizational performance leadership program for 75 Level 3 executives around the world, which launches in March. And Andrew Crouch, regional president of North America and APAC, is the Level 3 executive sponsor of the Daniels/Level 3 partnership.
“Daniels is such a valuable partner to Level 3, and one that we value greatly,” says Crouch. “Integrity is ingrained into the culture and the fabric of Level 3, so we especially appreciate the College’s holistic view of business and commitment to educating students and professionals on the importance of ethics in business. We’re excited to support Daniels and to move our company forward by having our leaders participate this year in a Daniels executive education program.”
“We’re absolutely delighted to partner with Level 3 Communications and have them assist us in expanding our global presence through their sophisticated communications solutions,” says Dr. Daniel Sweeney, director of the Institute. “These individuals have been great friends to the Institute and to Daniels, and we are so grateful for their involvement and for Level 3’s generous support of the College.”
