The Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver will host Voices of Experience Monday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts on the University of Denver campus. Mary Rhinehart, chairman, president and CEO of Johns Manville (JM), will be the speaker. JM is a Denver-based global manufacturer of premium-quality building products and engineered specialty materials and a Berkshire Hathaway company.
Rhinehart will talk about Four Values for Leading and Succeeding. She has spent nearly four decades at JM, holding leadership roles in finance, global treasury, global supply chain, human resources and strategic business development, as well as managing several of the company’s business units. Rhinehart was named president and CEO in 2012, after serving as CFO. She is also committed to giving back to the community and contributing her business insights to other organizations.
Rhinehart serves on several corporate boards, including CoBiz Financial and Ply Gem Industries Inc. She is also a member of the UCHealth board of directors and contributes her expertise as a member of the Executive Committee for the Policy Advisory Board of the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies; University of Denver Board of Trustees; The Colorado Forum; and Committee of 200, among others. When she was named CEO of JM, Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett said Rhinehart had “proven not only her ability to succeed at every level, but also her commitment to the business and passion for JM’s employees and customers.”
