Race & Case, the College’s signature business ethics case competition and ski challenge, is just around the corner. The format is unique to the Daniels College of Business as no other business school combines a case challenge with a NASTAR ski race. The internal competition to determine the Daniels representative was January 25-26. Over 100 students from all graduate degree programs participated to have the honor to advance to the national round. The winning team included Warren Booth, Phillip Cantrell, Amanda Ford, Terry Nicholas, Kaitlin Spokas and Ash Taylor. Team Daniels will take on competitors from business schools around the country in the national competition March 1-2 at Beaver Creek Resort.
The competition provides a unique real-world setting where students apply critical thinking and new approaches to ethical decision making and behavior. Teams prepare a recommendation for the judges, as if they are the board of directors or stakeholders for the company/organization. The internal case competition had a record number of 29 judges, many of whom are Daniels alumni, corporate partners and recruiters. Participating in the case offers students the opportunity to interact and network with potential employers and create connections to last a lifetime.
Alumni and friends are welcome to join the fun and watch either competition. Interested in sponsoring one of the premier business ethics case competitions in the country? Consider becoming a corporate or individual sponsor of the 2013 Race & Case.
