Denver Mayor Michael Hancock has tabbed Snowmass Village’s development director, Steve Ferris to take over as Denver’s director of Development Services, overseeing building project review and neighborhood inspections, city officials said Wednesday.

“Construction and development are driving our economy forward, positioning Denver as the ideal place to start a business, build a career and raise a family,” Hancock said. “Steve brings with him the knowledge and expertise to enable smart development in our neighborhoods and beyond, development that will drive job creation and growth on a globally competitive scale.”

Ferris earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Marquette University, a master’s degree in city and regional planning and land use from Cornell University, and an MBA in real-estate finance from the University of Denver.
