Daniels Career Services helped Jackie Martinez, find her new job with New York Life via the Career Expo held earlier this year. Jackie credits Patty Hickman with providing her ongoing advice with her résumé, which helped her land an interview and eventually a job offer.

Jackie advises students to, “never think negatively about what can be thought from a positive perspective. Everything in this world has a solution, we just need to do our part in making sure we obtain the answers to all of our questions and thus obtain the solution.” Jackie encourages students to visit the career center and obtain as much help as they can from the beginning. Jackie insists, “this helps with confidence and most importantly with connecting with the proper people. A dream job is doing what you enjoy and are passionate about–while making money.”

In addition to her new career opportunity, Jackie is also launching a foundation fundraising strategy for the community of Denver. This is an initiative that will allow her the opportunity to raise $1,000,000 in October. She will focus on opening a foundation that will help community churches with grants to support them in their mission to help the communities in which they are in. The money will help them establish needed services such as day cares, rehab centers, food banks, career centers, etc. Jackie’s fundraising strategy will help unite the world through Colorado and support the community’s needs.
