University of Denver students wanted to build a special playhouse for a special family. They found Scott and Wendi Smith.

The couple already had four biological children, but it was a trip to china years ago that changed their lives forever.

“Once we saw the orphanage and we were to see all the children who didn’t have families and did not have much of a hope or a future, we brought back Ellie. And she was just so great and we talked about it and said, ‘You know we have room in our home and more room in our heart,” recalled Wendi Smith.

The Smiths made four more trips to China, each time bring home a newly adopted child to their family. “Many of them have some sort of special needs that might scare people away from adopting them,” Wendi explained.
