Daniels College of Business hosts Voices of Experience April 9
The University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business will host Voices of Experience Tuesday, April 9, at 6 p.m. at the Newman Center for Performing Arts at the University of Denver. Rhys Duggan, CEO of Revesco Properties, will be the keynote speaker. Duggan’s real estate development firm is redeveloping Elitch Gardens Amusement Park in Denver into a vibrant, mixed-use urban neighborhood over the next 25 years.
Following Duggan’s presentation, he and Steve Nalley from the City and County of Denver, will sit down with Barbara Jackson, director of the Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management at Daniels for a Q&A. The conversation will highlight the interplay between the developer and the City in the planning for this project, and will discuss the many resultant unique features of the project, dubbed “The River Mile.”
The plan is to redevelop Elitch Gardens Amusement Park into a vibrant, mixed use, transit-orientated urban neighborhood. The project, which is projected to take 25 years and cost billions of dollars, is the largest development project in Denver since Stapleton.
Rhys has been involved in commercial real estate since the early 1990s, both as a principal and leading organizations at the senior-executive level. He started his career in commercial real estate in his hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia, as a project manager with the Larco Group of Companies, before moving to the U.S. in the late 1990s, and throughout his career has undertaken significant projects in Canada, the U.S. and the Bahamas.
