Congratulations to Anslem Gardner on landing a job as a Financial Representative with Fidelity Investments! Anslem set himself up for success by being proactive, reflecting on what he wanted in a career, and by taking advantage of the resources available to him at Daniels.
Anslem is currently in the PMBA program at the Daniels College of Business and taking Finance to support his career. However, he didn’t come from a finance background. It took hard work and dedication to effectively transition his career. So what was his recipe to success?
First, Anslem met with Robin Kane, Suitts Graduate & Alumni Career Services Interim Director to revamp his resume and redesign his LinkedIn page to highlight his MBA skills and career interests. He also took the CareerLeader business career assessment through Career Services to identify his strengths. It became clear through this assessment that his biggest motivators are intellectual challenge and altruism. Equipped with these insights, he started looking for financial positions on Pioneer Careers and ultimately came across an opening at Fidelity Investments.
Despite his lack of financial experience, Anslem was able to leverage his on-going education at Daniels and unique strengths to show Fidelity’s hiring managers that he would be an excellent Financial Representative. We are proud of Anslem’s hard work and wish him continued success!
