Six experts will share their experiences and discuss ULI’s interesting work engaging with members to improve their careers and their communities. This diverse panel of experts will include DU alumnus Jesse Kajer, Vice President of Centennialbank. Other panelists will include:

Jesse Kajer, Vice President
Jesse is responsible for real estate lending and has over 12 years of experience across numerous facets of the real estate industry. He grew up in the mountains of Southwest Colorado and holds an International M.B.A. from the University of Denver along with a B.S. in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
Katie Johnson, Capital Markets Operations Manager
As a member of CBRE’s national Joint Venture and Structured Finance group, Katie helps developer and owner clients source equity for projects of all property types throughout the US. Katie works on all parts of the process from deal originating, creating investment offerings, marketing, due diligence through deal funding. Since joining CBRE in 2013, Katie has worked on analyzing and underwriting $1B of equity transactions. Katie received her BA from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota and her MBA from the University of Denver.
Karlin Vaessen, Partner
A partner at Neo Studio, a multi-disciplinary architecture and design firm, Karlin co-founded the company to focus on Commercial/Mixed-Use, Multi-Family Housing, Affordable Housing and Hospitality properties in Colorado and beyond. The diverse team at Neo Studio delivers high design, creative and contextual solutions to a broad range of influential clients. Karlin’s primary role is client relations and project management, having led large teams on complicated building projects for most of her career. Karlin believes that sustainability is integral to the design of any structure or space and has been a LEED accredited professional since 2004.
First honing her design and management skills in Chicago, collaborating on large-scale commercial and government developments at SOM, Karlin moved to Denver to participate in the urbanization of this great city and of course to capitalize on the great lifestyle the Rocky Mountains have to offer. Previously, Karlin served as a Senior Associate and key member of the Multi-Family/Mixed Use practice area of OZ Architecture for 9 years, managing large project teams on local and national Market-Rate and Affordable Housing, Mixed-Use Commercial, Civic, Institutional, and Tenant Improvement projects.
Doug Miller, Director of Business Development and Preconstruction
Doug has worked in the commercial real estate (RE) and commercial construction field since 2000. His experiences and expertise include business development, preconstruction, estimating, project management, RE development and feasibility, RE capital investment programs, regional and national portfolios, sustainable consulting, and teaching as an Adjunct Professor for University of Denver.
Doug has been involved in projects in nearly all private and public real estate and facilities markets. He is a leader at Alliance Construction Solutions; mostly concerned with Alliance’s value proposition, business development program strategy and execution, and leading the “continual improvement” culture in Alliance’s preconstruction group.
Doug began a teaching role at University of Denver, Burns School of RE and CM, in 2014 teaching graduate level course titled “Preconstruction Integration and Planning”. This work offers the ability to learn and become more of an expert in his field, give back to the University program where he earned his Master of Science degree in 2008, and meet the future industry stars for our region.
Doug is also the current Board Chairman for the Golden Urban Renewal Authority in Golden, CO. This citizen volunteer position provides opportunity to serve my community, and is very rewarding.
Judson Robertson, Director
Judson Robertson joined Stream Realty Partners in 2012 as a Director in the firm’s Denver office division. Judson’s primary role includes project leasing, tenant representation and the identification of strategic investments for the firm and its clients.
Judson’s client-centric approach coupled with his ability to effectively create positive leverage for his clients have yielded exceptional results and recognition within the Denver commercial real estate industry. In 2010 he was honored with the ‘Young Broker of the Year’ award for his active involvement in the closure of 164 transactions and over the past two years he has completed transactions in excess of $300 million.
Prior to joining Stream Realty, Judson was an Associate Director at Newmark Knight Frank Frederick Ross in Denver and was previously an Asset Manager at Principal Global Investors where he was responsible for asset performance measurements and strategies, benchmarking and valuation analysis for a $1.5 billion commercial real estate portfolio.
Judson has a BS in Finance from Western Kentucky University
Adam Fenton, Senior Development Manager
Adam is a Senior Development Manager for Holland Partners Group concentrating on mixed-use and multifamily development in Denver, CO.
Holland Development has established itself as a premier developer of core urban infill residential and mixed-use trophy communities with a disciplined focus on high barrier-to-entry markets that appeal to the rising creative class. Within these markets, they select locations that are walkable to rapidly expanding employment centers or transit hubs that serve these targeted employment centers. Adam received a BA in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Northern Iowa.
