Department of Information Technology & Electronic Commerce
Get a competitive advantage in business.
Information technology (IT) is increasingly seen as a competitive advantage by companies
and organizations. The development of effective IT systems requires knowledge of both
management issues and information technology.
The business information technology major at Daniels combines the breadth of business education with the depth in IT necessary to design and deploy creative information systems that support key business operations and technology-enabled business innovations. Graduates may find careers with consulting firms, internal systems or electronic commerce groups, or technology-intensive firms in software development or information services.
Students can also pursue a business information technology minor to complement a business major. In a world increasingly driven by technology, an IT minor can give students a competitive edge.
