Pioneering Innovation in the Newspaper Industry

February 27, 2012 |

Cory Lamz believes that everyone at the University of Denver has a story, and he is no exception. As editor-in-chief of the Clarion, freelance writer for Westword, and art director for a local newspaper, he actively immerses himself in the newspaper industry. During his time at the University of Denver, Cory is completing a double major in Journalism and Digital Media Studies with a minor in Marketing. This combination of disciplines plays into his many current projects, and he hopes his experience at Daniels will also help pave the road toward his goals of ether writing for Rolling Stone or becoming a music industry lawyer.

Cory’s experience as such a busy and dedicated individual is that Daniels has taught him to manage his commitments, keep communicating, and achieve results. He advises incoming freshmen to do the same—“find something you love to do and commit yourself fully to it”. Cory plans to graduate in November, and hopes to “slow down” for the remainder of his time at DU and enjoy the ride while managing all of his projects.

Thank you, Cory, for being such a dynamic and passionate Pioneer. We look forward to seeing the great things you will achieve in the future.
