A Pioneer in the Toy Business

February 20, 2012 |

potw-samuhlmannSam’s passion for skiing not only helped him choose the University of Denver, but also gave him inspiration for the business of which he is CEO and a co-founder. He and his brother started an online toy store at kendama-co.com, which sells Kendama toys—the traditional Japanese version of the ball and cup game. Kendama-Co was the first step toward Sam’s lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur, and he believes that his Daniels College of Business education will greatly help him grow his business and achieve this dream. Sam also aspires to attend Law School after graduating from DU with a political science degree.

Proximity to ski resorts wasn’t the only reason Sam chose DU. The beautiful campus, small, personal classes, and overall atmosphere of the school all played a role in his decision. Sam advises incoming freshmen to make the most of their time at DU by getting involved around campus and enjoying the great outdoors. Thanks for being an exemplary Daniels Pioneer, Sam, and good luck with Kendama-Co!
