The Daniels College of Business, in conjunction with Daniels Career Services, believes it to be important to develop and maintain professional relationships with employers and recruiters for internship and job opportunities. In order to best prepare students and alumni for their career pursuits, and meet the needs and requirements of employers, Daniels Career Services is implementing a national business practice policy to address the issue of no-shows and late cancellations.
Daniels Career Services requires that all students and alumni participating in Daniels career events and appointments use appropriate cancellation procedures. Canceling less than 24 hours in advance or failing to show for an event/appointment may deny your peers of an appointment time, event, or interviewing opportunity. Furthermore, such actions can negatively impact your reputation as a business student or alumni and as a business professional, not to mention the negative reflection on the Daniels College of Business and the University of Denver. Daniels Career Services treats these occurrences very seriously and advises you read the following “Cancellation & No-Show Policy” details:
How to Cancel
Cancel Career Appointments: Contact Daniels Career Services Monday—Friday between 8:30 a.m.—4:30 p.m. MT at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.
Cancel Events (Information Sessions, Workshops, On-campus Interviews): Login to danielscareers. Select “RSVP for Workshops & Events.” Find the event you wish to cancel and click the “Cancel” button.
Note: You will only be able to cancel online 24 hours or more in advance of the event. If you do not see the “Cancel” button, then you have missed the online cancellations deadline and must contact the Daniels Career Services office directly during business hours.
Same Day Emergencies: In the event of a sudden illness or personal emergency on the day of the event/appointment, students and alumni (or an assigned representative) are expected to notify Daniels Career Services by 8:30 a.m. that day.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy
On-Campus Interviews: No-showing or canceling an on-campus interview within 24 hours of the interview will result in serious consequences. Students who cancel within 24 hours of the interview will be required to write a letter of apology to the employer prior to signing up for another on-campus interview or career services event. Access to Daniels Careers will be suspended until the letter of apology is recorded. Upon a second late cancellation, in addition to writing a letter of apology to the employer, you will be prohibited from participating in on-campus interviews until the next quarter. For students who no-show and no-call, access to Daniels Careers will immediately be suspended for the remainder of the quarter and you will be prohibited from participating in on-campus interviews until the next quarter.
Events or appointments (excluding on-campus interviews):
First & Second No-Show: You will receive a “warning letter” via e-mail from Daniels Career Services informing you that you have missed your scheduled event or career appointment/s.
Third No-Show: A third no-show will result in the suspension of your Daniels Careers account and you may not schedule further events or career appointments. You will be required to meet with the Executive Director of Daniels Career Services to explain the reason for your no-show in order to have your Daniels Careers account and appointment scheduling ability reinstated.
Late Cancellations: After a third late cancellation, your Daniels Careers account will be suspended until you conduct a meeting with the Executive Director of Daniels Career Services. During your suspension period you will not be able to schedule for career appointments and access any of the features and resources on Daniels Careers:
- You will not be able to submit résumés, schedule interview appointments, or view your interview schedule on Daniels Careers or MBA Focus.
- You will not be able to utilize any Career Education and Job Search resources.
- Employers will not be able to preselect you for interviews.
- You will not be able to register for events of any kind.
The purpose of this policy is to help ensure all Daniels students and alumni honor all arranged commitments and that employers feel their time is valued and respected. You will be given a 48-hour grace period before any suspensions go into effect. During that time, you may contact Daniels Career Services directly to explain any extenuating circumstances.
