Megan credits Daniels Career Services with helping her find her new position through the Daniels job postings. Tony, her career coach helped her tailor her résumé for an analytics position. “Tony was awesome and notified me as soon as she got an email for a great consulting position. I never considered a consulting position but was really excited about the opportunity she found for me”. Megan also says Daniels Career Services helped her stay up to date on networking events, business panels, job and internship opportunities.
Megan’s advice for both current and students is to network. Network with friends, family, classmates, professors and everyone else. She also recommends that students not only have career services help them with their résumés, but to also get feedback from a trusted working professional. “It was really helpful for me to learn what employers want to see, and career services helped me organize and format my résumé”. She also strongly advises students to do informational interviews, which she found really helpful in determining what she wanted to do. “I was glad I started interviewing early in the year so I could learn more about different positions, and later was able to realize I didn’t want to go in the direction I was heading. The informal interviews helped me network but also learn more about myself and the job search process! Oh, also, the BIA panel was super informative for me.”
