Scholarships for Graduate Students

Merit-based scholarships

The majority of Daniels merit-based scholarships are offered at the time of acceptance to a Daniels graduate program. These offers are based on extraordinary academic performance and relevant work experience. There is no separate scholarship application—decisions are based on your graduate school admission application. The GMAT is required of all those wishing to be considered for merit-based scholarships. In addition, an admission interview is required for merit-based scholarship consideration. Both U.S. and international students may apply for merit-based scholarships.

Most merit-based scholarships range from $2,000–$15,000 total, disbursed equally over the duration of a student’s program. A limited number of Dean’s Scholarships, ranging from $15,000–$25,000 may also be awarded, depending on the availability of funds.

Need-based scholarships

Need-based scholarships, which range from $1,500–$6,000/year for a maximum of two years, may be awarded after the student has confirmed their attendance at Daniels. These are dependent on strong academic performance, as well as level of need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To be considered, the student must be a U.S. citizen. These applications must be submitted to the University of Denver’s Office of Student Financial Services.

DU Office of Student Financial Services

Prospective Executive MBA students are not eligible for merit scholarships. However, because we believe that cohort diversity increases the quality of the student experience, grants may be offered to individuals who work in non-profit organizations or are a part of an under-represented industry or category.
