Biography At-a-Glance
Peter Whalen is an assistant professor of marketing at the Daniels College of Business and his background incorporates both academic expertise and corporate marketing experience. He has researched and published on learning by individual organizations, and researched planning in uncertain markets as well as post plan improvisations of strategic marketing plans. His professional experience includes serving as president and owner of The Marketing Department and conducting marketing planning and research for Anheuser Busch. He received an outstanding teaching award from the University of Oregon, and was the recipient of the Palo Alto Software Research Grant and the Kauffman Foundation scholarship. When working with the media, Whalen can address marketing from both an academic and industry perspective. He can discuss marketing and strategic resources, business-to-business advertising, promotions and advertising, product development, consumer marketing and trends.
