Biography At-a-Glance

Kevin O'Brien is chair and an associate professor in the Department of Business Ethics and Legal Studies, Daniels College of Business.  In the classroom, he analyzes key executive decisions from many perspectives:  ethical, professional, international, public policy, and legal points of view in his course, "Ethics for the 21st Century Professional." As an attorney, CPA, and an IRS revenue agent, he has wide experience in civil and criminal investigations, and has published and lectured extensively on professional ethics. He is known as one of the leading experts in Sarbanes-Oxley issues as well as corporate whistle-blowing and the law throughout the country. His commentary can also be found on the nationally acclaimed www.theracetothebottom.org, a blog on important legal issues of the day.

When working with the media, O'Brien can address issues of values-based leadership and executive responsibility, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, employment law, corporate whistle-blowing and the law, legislative and corporate corruption, technology and electronic commerce.  His government and corporate experience enable him to discuss issues from both a practical and high-level perspective.
