Lowell Hare is vice president and CFO of Journal Enterprises, Inc., the publisher of the Albuquerque Journal and the Sunday Journal. Mr. Hare is also the managing partner of H & L Investment Company, which is involved in oil and gas exploration, commercial real estate, research and development, and privately and publicly traded securities. He is a member of the Executive Committee of Lang Trust Management Company. Previously, Mr. Hare was executive vice president and CFO of Energy Management Company.

Mr. Hare is a board member of First State Bancorporation and will be named chair of the Archdiocese of Denver Finance Council in January 2011. He served as chairman of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Denver and on the University of Denver School of Accountancy Board of Advisors, and as a member of the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, the Exempla Healthcare Audit and Compliance Committee, the Church of the Risen Christ Finance Council and the Grant Thornton Business Leaders Council. He is a certified public accountant.

Mr. Hare holds a BSBA in accounting from the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business, and an AA from Northeastern Junior College, where he was a two-year letterman in basketball. He was named Alumnus of the Year by the School of Accountancy in 1992 and received the Pathfinder Award from Northeastern in 2006.
