Joe Colosimo is a high energy, candid, and “get it done” advisor. He serves organizations large and small. He is driven to help organizations and their people become competitive. He combines profit and nonprofit experiences with an accomplished corporate and consulting career. Colosimo is founder and president of his company, Colosimo & Associates.

His executive experiences are with several noteworthy corporations including Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Westinghouse and UtiliCorp United, or in senior Human Resources positions with Ford and Loral. His consulting practice combines work at Organization Resources Counselors, Inc. and his own consulting to many Fortune 300 Corporations, small businesses and non-profit organizations.

He is viewed as a trusted advisor in the areas of human resources, communications and community affairs. He consults on issues of strategy development and implementation. He helps organizations become more focused and effective, and is particularly knowledgeable with talent sourcing, talent development/coaching, employee relations, organization design and development, communications, and bringing groups together to focus through his facilitation and processes. His experiences cover a range of economic conditions from start up, to growth, to redirection, to turnaround, and divestiture.

He has spoken at many universities and executive conferences, and he is networked with some of the leading international thought leaders in his fields. Speaking includes; retreats, panels, seminars and planning events, classrooms and executive education events. His topics are; career planning, leadership, motivation, managing and developing talent, high performance, charting and managing large scale change, consulting vs. corporate careers, wide range of other Human Resources topics, and strategy. He uniquely uses the metaphor of Rowing in his talks.

His work has been noted in books, and he was featured in The Journal of Business Strategy as one of the leading strategists in the country to watch and the only non-ceo among the group. More recently he was featured in Financial Executive Magazine on future talent challenges.

When he is not working, Colosimo has been active in a variety of community organizations and initiatives. He teaches in the Management Department of the University of Denver. Previously, he was a long-term active Board member of The Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern Pennsylvania. He has served on the Board of the Rocky Mountain Human Resource Planning Society, KidsTek and the Leadership Committee of the Association for Corporate Growth. He has been a competitive rower having competed throughout the United States and Canada. He and his family live in Centennial, Colorado.
