Biography at a Glance
George Spentzos, CFA, is a Managing Director in the Global Markets division of Societe Generale, based in London, UK. He has worked for various investment banks and hedge funds over the past fifteen years. Previously, George headed the Credit Advisory group at Credaris and was Head of Structured Credit at Brevan Howard. From 2003 to 2006, he managed synthetic CDOs, CLOs and credit funds at Cheyne Capital. George started his investment banking career at Nomura International where he was a bond trader specializing in credit derivatives. George obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 1986 and an MBA in Finance (Beta Gamma Sigma) from the University of Denver in 1996. He is also Past Chairman of the CFA Society of UK and a volunteer on various CFA Institute committees.
