Biography at a Glance
Alex West’s experience is drawn from the corporate and nonprofit worlds at organizations of all sizes. Over the past 6 years, West has found her niche developing and managing successful programs and projects in the Denver area and beyond. As of October 2014, West accepted the role as the Director of the Colorado Technology Foundation. Prior to accepting this role, West was managing programs for the Colorado Innovation Network, a special initiative of Governor Hickenlooper.
From 2012-2013, West was the National Program Director for CorpsGiving, a small company that designs and manages corporate volunteer programs and giving strategies. West worked to make it possible for employees to positively affect their local community and company culture in a sustainable and authentic way through engaging programs, community giving as well as through the efforts of her national volunteer event staff.
Prior to joining CorpsGiving, West launched and managed a corporate giving and sponsorship program at the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, building strategic partnerships within the Denver community by collaborating with senior executives regarding their philanthropic and marketing goals.
West is a Denver native and graduated with honors from Colorado College where she played Division I soccer. She also served as the President of her graduating class at the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver where she earned her MBA. Prior to earing her MBA, while working in London for UBS as a Collateral Manager, West took courses in management and leadership from Cambridge University.
West graduated from the 2014 Impact Denver Program through the Denver Metro Chamber’s Leadership Foundation, is on the leadership committee for the Daniels College of Business Alumni Advisory Board and also volunteers with Junior Achievement and the Botanic Gardens. In her free time, West loves to ski, garden, cook, spend time with her family and be outdoors with good friends and her dog Samson.
