Joseph Saunders (BS '67, MBA '68), chairman and CEO of Visa Inc., delivered the University of Denver's Commencement address, telling the audience he would offer the graduates simple advice to return to the basics. "What's most important is how you feel about yourself," Saunders said. "Respect others' points of view and make time to give back to the community and to those in need."
Daniels alumni have lifetime access to robust alumni services and a 30,000-strong alumni network to support evolving career goals.

Daniels collaborates with the University, other Colorado universities, state and local governments and community members to plan the annual Multicultural Career Fair, hosted by the University of Denver. Daniels master of science in marketing candidate Elizabeth Boulos volunteered for the 2009 planning committee. "Planning the CMCIF was the best networking opportunity that I have had at Daniels. The interactions that I had with recruiters from top companies provided me with insight on what exactly [recruiters] look for in prospective employees."
The fair is designed to connect students and alumni of color with employers committed to diversity. The free event was open to all of Colorado's higher education students and alumni with a particular target audience of women, athletes and students of color.

Race & Case, Daniels' ethical case competition, is the only case competition in the country that combines a business ethical dilemma one day back to back with downhill ski race the next.

Graduate students in the course "Microfinance and Sustainable Development" not only leave the classroom to learn about the microfinance industry and corporate social responsibility, they leave the continent. Students meet with staff and clients of the microfinance institution Angkor Mikroheranhvatho (Kampuchea) Co., or AMK. This is a partnership with Deutsch Bank's Global Social Investment Funds, which is considering investing in AMK.

Dan Cathy, president and chief operating officer of Chick-fil-A, spoke with Daniels students and faculty about the importance of values and ethics in business. He encouraged the business students in the audience to remember the importance of values when following their own career paths.
