Race and Case

Plenty of sunshine and fresh powder makes it easy for Daniels faculty and staff to cheer on competitors in the NASTAR downhill race at Vail.

Students turned athletes prepare for a practice run at the top of the Black Forest NASTAR course.

The case portion of the competition challenges students to provide a solution to a real-world ethical business dilemma in front of a panel of judges made up of faculty, business leaders and community members.

It's hard to know what the teams prepare the most for: the case or the race. This Daniels competitor lets everyone know that he takes this seriously as he finishes a run to help his team win the Daniels Cup.

Taking a break before their winning run, the 2009 Daniels team displays the camaraderie that develops during the preparation leading up to the event.

Fast or slow, everyone enjoys the race portion of Race & Case. Competitors are allowed several practice runs before their official runs are timed on the NASTAR course.
