Photo Tour: The Ritchie Center

July 24, 2011 |

I just got back from a week-long family reunion cruise to Alaska. At a fitness presentation on the ship, I learned that the average cruiser gains one to two pounds per day! The cornucopia of treats available was delectable, but now that I have returned to the thinnest and fittest state in the nation, I’m definitely motivated to lose the extra baggage!

Luckily, I have a distinct advantage over my equally plumped-up relatives: the Ritchie Center at DU. There isn’t a better place to work up a sweat than inside our very own world-class, state-of-the-art sports and wellness center. Here is photographic proof that the Center is as gorgeous as it looks on the website:

One great feature of the Coors Fitness Center is its group fitness classes (and they’re free for full-time Daniels students, as is membership to the Center).  Coors offers everything from yoga and pilates to boxing and “Extreme Lift.”  Click here to see the current group fitness class schedule, and click here to see a clip from their Bollywood Dance class.
