Chelsea Clinton and actress America Ferrera spoke to a full house at the University of Denver, Anderson Academic Commons on Thursday, February 18. Campaigning for Hillary Clinton for President, the pair discussed Clinton’s stance on issues ranging from women’s rights to health care, from higher education to climate change.

The pair also fielded questions from an audience of DU students, faculty, staff, campaign volunteers and other Denver community members. Former President Bill Clinton attended Hillary for Colorado events over the weekend in Pueblo and Colorado Springs. While in Denver, Chelsea and America also met with a Latina coffee group to talk about issues of importance to the Latina community.

DU has hosted numerous presidential candidates through the years, including Bernie Sanders in 2015, John McCain in 2008, Barack Obama in 2008, Bill Clinton in 2008, Ronald Reagan in 1979 and Richard Nixon in 1961. DU hosted the first of three presidential debates (Mitt Romney vs. Barack Obama) in 2012.
