The University of Denver has announced the appointment of Charles (Chuck) Patti, Ph.D. as Interim Dean of the Daniels College of Business, effective June 24.

Patti will serve in this capacity while the University conducts a national Dean search, likely through the 2013-14 academic year. He replaces Christine Riordan who recently announced her resignation to accept the position of provost at the University of Kentucky.

Patti  is the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Research at Daniels, previously serving as the James M. Cox Professor of Customer Experience Management (CEM) at Daniels, with significant experience in the academic and business worlds, both within the United States and internationally. He has served as department head at Daniels, school head in Australia, director of executive MBA programs, associate dean, acting dean, and chair of committees at university, college, school, and department levels, as well as for international collaborations. Dr. Patti has an extensive teaching background in a wide range of settings, including doctoral seminars, MBA and other specialized undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as executive education.

Chancellor Robert Coombe said the Daniels College of Business community will benefit from the strong leadership and experience of Patti. “With an academic career that spans over 30 years, Chuck’s experience and background in higher education, administrative leadership and strong ties with the Denver business community will position the college for continued success,” he said.

“I look forward to continuing to build on the powerful foundation of scholarship and quality of Daniels,” said Patti. “We will move the Daniels strategic plan – Daniels Tomorrow – forward as well as our commitment to the values of excellence and ethics, sustaining a dynamic learning community of faculty, staff, students, corporate partners and an active world-wide network of alumni.”

Patti’s scholarship includes publications in international journals, proceedings, books, case studies, book chapters, book reviews, and industry/consulting reports on marketing management, customer experience, marketing communications, and learning and teaching issues.
