  • Point of Pride imageDaniels alumnus Caleb Hebel was named one of BusinessWeek's top young entrepreneurs of 2008.
  • Marketing professor Dr. Steven Hartley is the co-author of Marketing, one of the most widely used marketing college textbooks.
  • Information technology professor Dr. Don McCubbrey co-leads a top Wiki global initiative to provide online textbooks in developing countries.
  • Dr. Dan Connolly, School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management, was featured as a visionary in hospitality technology in Lodging magazine (Aug 2008).
  • Dr. Hugh Grove, School of Accountancy, Best Reviewer of the Year (Accounting Track), NACRA 2008 Annual Meeting.
  • Daniels College of Business is the proud recipient of the Asian Chamber of Commerce 2008 Community Partnership Award.
  • Marketing Roundtable and Supply Chain Roundtable members have raised and awarded more than $45,000 in scholarships since 2003.
  • In 2008, Executive MBA Team Kilo of Cohort 50, with help from Team Juliet from Cohort 51, established the EMBA Scholarship Fund as an endowed scholarship fund for the future benefit of current and prospective EMBA students.

Experiential Learning

  • Point of Pride imageThe Reiman School of Finance offers a hands-on microfinance course in partnership with Deutsche Bank, delivering real-world solutions for developing economies.
  • Two-thirds of our undergraduate students study abroad, and hands-on international learning experiences are integrated into most of our graduate programs.
  • Wayne Gueera, MD and EMBA student, developed a business plan with a fellow EMBA student to develop a website for medical procedures to make health care delivery more efficient.
  • Daniels graduate students recently traveled to Tanzania to work with Peace House, a mini-model of the issues that surround sustainable development.
  • Daniels graduate students teamed up to present the Bank of Denver with a comprehensive marketing plan as part of the graduate-level Marketing Planning course. Actual results surpassed those projected in the plan, providing a positive ROI for the bank despite today's challenging economic conditions.
