Taking Photos

Taking Photos

The Office of Communications and Marketing is in the ongoing process of building our photo database. We are seeking action-oriented photos that we can use to market the College and help tell the story of your programs. When taking photos, please reference this tip sheet to ensure that they can be used in marketing materials.

Flickr

Flickr

Visit the Daniels photostream on Flickr. There, you can view and download our collections and sets of photographs and submit your photos to be a part of our photostream. Flickr even lets you upload your photos to our “danilesatdu” group. Please contact Aurora Joe with questions.

How to Download an Image from Flickr

  1. Select the image you like.
  2. Go to “Actions” and select “View all sizes.” A new window will open.
  3. Select the size you want.
  4. Select download. Image will save directly to desktop or download folder on your computer.

How to Upload an Image to Flickr

  1. Create a Flickr account: Visit Flickr and open a free or pro account. You will need a Yahoo! ID. If you do not have on, you can register via Yahoo!.
  2. Join the danielsatdu group: Need help with groups? Visit the Flickr Group FAQ.
  3. Upload your photos to your account: Visit the Flicker Photos FAQ for help.
  4. Organize your photos either individually or in batches, then send them to the danielsatdu group: Flickr FAQ/Instructions.

Tags

Tags are keyword to help you and other find photos. Tag your Flickr photos by selecting an image and enlarging it. Click on “add a tag” located to the right of the image. Tag with “danielsatdu” or “danielspioneer” to help us build our Daniels College of Business and Daniels Pioneer collections. You can add as many as 75 tags to a single photo.

Drop down the “Share this” menu above your photo to email, link, blog or get the HTML code to embed pictures. Visit Flickr’s FAQ for more information.

YouTube

YouTube

Daniels places all of its videos on our YouTube channel. These can be shared with anyone who would like to know more about our community. If you have videos to share, send the link to Nik Scott, and we will place them on our channel.

Tags

Tags are keywords to help you and others find photos. Include tags in your YouTube video that reflect the video and its content. Include “Daniels College of Business” and “University of Denver” so the video is paired with related and suggested videos.
