Rediscovering the lost art of teaching.

At Daniels, our faculty recognizes that to deliver an experience that will change our students forever requires a culture that rewards teaching and learning at or above rewards associated with publishing and research. Daniels faculty is focused on learning. They genuinely care about our students and their development.

Management professor Dr. Cynthia Fukami has long been the Daniels champion for teaching and learning. Dr. Fukami’s distinguished career has been centered on teaching excellence, a rarity for a business school professor. Among her many honors, she is a Fellow of The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, and was a Carnegie Scholar for The Carnegie Teaching Academy. She currently sits on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Learning and Education Journal, and the Journal of Management Education and has published extensively on the subject of teaching.

“Teaching is not just an activity at Daniels,” Dr. Fukami says. “We consider teaching to be a scholarly activity for faculty. Our students, and what they learn, really matter to us. Teaching and learning is truly our first passion.”
